Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX – January 12, 2007 – Insala, a leading global provider of career transition technology, announces Kaiser-Hill's Department of Energy Rocky Flats clean up and closure project has been awarded the 2006 Project of the Year by Project Management Institute (PMI). PMI recognizes and honors a project and its project team for superior performance and the execution of exemplary project management.

The DOE partnered with environmental remediation company and Insala career transition technology customer, Kaiser-Hill, in the safe decommissioning of the Rocky Flats nuclear weapons manufacturing site. Together the DOE and Kaiser Hill successfully completed the project fifty years and $30 billion below preliminary estimates.

The closing of the Rocky Flats location included an employer sponsored service to assist the career transition of the over 4,000 employees that would be laid off as a result of the plant closing. Kaiser-Hill partnered with Insala to design, develop and deliver a customized online career transition solution that would assist all transitioning employees in the next phase of their careers.

The result of the partnership was the launch of KHecareer, an online one-stop interactive career transition system providing Rocky Flat' transitioning workforce with a full range of interactive tools and resources including a resume builder, public and private sector online career sites, online job board of opportunities and contact information of Rocky Flats alums. Insala's Research team worked with the Kaiser-Hill team to compile career and job resources specifically for the Rocky Flats workforce and region. Additionally, employers seeking quality workers could login to the KHecareer site and search for candidates by skill.

"We congratulate Kaiser-Hill on this fantastic recognition. We know their team had a daunting task in terms of closing a facility decades before original estimates," says Matt Adams, Insala Chief Administrative Officer. "Insala is truly happy to be part of this initiative by supplying the online portal that assisted employees in finding jobs faster and allowing those involved in managing the project to report and track placement assistance on Rocky Flats employees."

The PMI Project of the Year is one of the world's most prestigious project management awards, which recognizes and honors the accomplishments of the winning project team for superior and exemplary project management. With nearly 220,000 members in more than 150 countries, PMI is the leading membership association for the project management profession. PMI is actively engaged in advocacy for the profession, setting professional standards, conducting research and providing access to a wealth of information and resources.
